Gardenstown, Aberdeenshire
Originally known as Gamrie, Gardenstown was founded in 1720 by Alexander Garden as a coastal fishing village. To the left of the webcam are the remains of St Johns Church, which pre-dates the village of Gardenstown. The Church of St John the Evangelist was built in 1513, and celebrates the defeat of the Danes at this site in 1004.
Castle Hill, an ancient Mott and Bailey fortification can be made out nearer the centre of the webcam window just before the cliffs and the coast. The harbour entrance and village of Gardenstown itself is in-line with the rocky outcrop to the right.
