In Stonehaven down by the coast at the north end there used to be a Hotel that did excellent several course dinners. I think the structure was constructed of timber. My son and I stayed overnight in 1979. I went through about 10 years ago but could not find it.

I was born in Ellon in 1942. My grandparents lived in what was then known as West Lodge, Ellon Castle, my grandfather was gamekeeper for Sir Edward and Lady Reid. Looking at the photographs bring back many happy memories. I now live in Texas USA and Ellon is always on my list of places to visit.
Congratulations on a great website.

Happy Year New from New Zealand, having a wonderful time surfing your site. My grandfather William Sim migrated to NZ when he was 17 and never returned to his homeland. Although he has told us many a good story. I visited Peterhead in 1992 and would like to thank the people of Peterhead for their warmth and hospitality.

Hi

I am tracing ancestors in Scotland, In the 1871 census a John Smith owned a farm, the address was Coyanchie. My Great, Great Grandfather worked on this farm. This farm was 240 acres. Would this be the same place do you think?

Thanks for your help

Carol

Wish I could be there!!! The beauty of the countryside is breathtaking!!!
